Some History of Oceanside
Little League
Oceanside Little League was chartered in 1952. For quite a
bit of time recently, there were two Little Leagues that called Oceanside home:
Oceanside American Little League and Oceanside National Little League. Both
leagues operated independently and achieved success separately; often times
they would find themselves opposing each other in the various Williamsport Tournaments
within the same Little League District. Starting with the 2015 season, the two
leagues merged within District 30 – Section 4 West of the New York State Little
League and were reformed under the original name of Oceanside Little League as one league. Across all divisions of play, former American
League and National League players were drafted onto the same teams and have been ever since. The
immediate impact was a better level of play across all divisions throughout the
entire combined league. The long-term impact has been realized in just four
years. Our 2019 12u Williamsport
Tournament team won NYS District 30, won NYS Section 4W and advanced to the New
York State tournament finishing in 5th place.
